What does recruitment look like at Create + Adapt? The second instalment of our interview series delves into the minds of our talent team. We’re getting under the skin of Sandy Breitmeier – Talent Manager, to understand how our unique recruitment strategies play into real life experiences.
Talent extraordinaire by day and professional lifestyle blogger by night, Sandy brings along a wealth of knowledge and in-house experience. When she isn’t cooking up amazing things with our talent partners, she’s our designated social media expert; no meal she eats doesn’t find its way onto Instagram. Cutting her teeth with innovative brands like Lego and Hello Fresh, Sandy joined Create + Adapt in search of a new challenge. Here’s what she’s got to say:
What was your motivation to join recruitment…
“I didn’t seek out recruitment, it sort of found me. People motivate me. Recruitment allows me to work with people, meet new people, shape people’s lives and strive to make them happy, and I love it.”
Your initial thoughts about C+A…
“I could immediately tell that the team were passionate about what they are all trying to achieve and why. The drive and ambition were so apparent and I was brought in by the C+A mission; modern and inspiring.”
Describe a recruiter at Create + Adapt in 3 words…
“Honest, driven & out-going.”
What does a day in your shoes look like…
“I love that every day is different. One day I’ll be working on-site with one of our fab clients, the next I could be visiting new brands, working from home or in one of our amazing co-working spaces. I keep finding cool and interesting places to work. There’s so much versatility and uniqueness to each day at Create + Adapt.”
What is your most memorable hire to date at Create + Adapt…
“I recently secured a hire at Tails.com. I came across a great candidate who was ideally looking for a job outside of London. Even though the role at Tails was London based, I managed to find out that the real reason she was leaving was that she wanted to find a dog-friendly office for her pooch. It was perfect – not to mention her dog had the same name as the office mascot! So it was all meant to be from the first moment!”
How would you describe your experience at C+A so far…
“It’s been a whirlwind of challenge and happiness, I’ve learnt so much already! What’s so great about this agile working model is that I get the chance to structure and organise my days the way I think is most efficient. It’s inspired me take ownership of my role and pushed me to be more self-motivated. I’m learning more and more every day. As a vlogger, it’s refreshing that I can now balance this alongside my work life.”
Plans for the future…
“Good things. Create + Adapt, as the name suggests, is ever-adapting and I want to create something new that I am proud to be a part of. There is so much more I’d like to achieve with C+A and hone my skills along the way…”
